Former Vols WR Squirrel White headlines FSU's busy day of transfer portal visits

The Florida State football staff will have one of its busiest days of this transfer portal season today as the Seminoles are expected to have at least eight visitors on campus, including four new arrivals.

The biggest new name on the list is Tennessee wide receiver transfer Squirrel White, whose visit was confirmed by On3’s Pete Nakos. The Alabama product is one of the fastest players in college football and turned in very impressive 2022 and ’23 seasons before being limited by injury in 2024.

As a freshman in ’22, White posted 30 receptions for 481 yards and two touchdowns, while also working as a return specialist.

One year later, he blossomed into a full-time starter and racked up 803 yards and two touchdowns on 67 receptions. White then battled through injuries this past fall and finished with 34 catches for 381 yards and two scores.

White, who is listed at 5-foot-10 and 167 pounds, entered the portal last week and is expected to be the subject of fierce competition on the transfer market.

Three transfer prospects who are expected to start their Florida State visits today are former Tennessee defensive lineman Jayson Jenkins, former Coastal Carolina defensive end Deamontae Diggs and former Sam Houston State defensive end Chris Murray.

The Seminoles also are expected to wrap up two-day visits with running back Rahsul Faison (Utah State), linebackers Caleb LaVallee (North Carolina) and Marques Watson-Trent (Georgia Southern) and offensive line signee Luke Petitbon (Wake Forest).
