Four-star WR commit Camdon Frier on FSU: 'I still feel pretty solid about my commitment'
Florida State 2024 commit and Lake City Columbia standout wide receiver Camdon Frier put on another solid show this past week, finishing with nearly 100 yards and a touchdown in the Tigers’ 28-14 win over Middleburg.
After the game, Frier discussed how he’s feeling about the ‘Noles, when he plans to return to FSU, the bond he has developed with 2024 QB commit Luke Kromenhoek, and more.
Frier’s touchdown came on a 51-yard catch. His biggest game this season came with 190 yards and two touchdowns against Trinity Christian.
“I think ever since the DeLand game, I felt things were starting to click with the offense,” Frier said. “On the touchdown, I told the coaches that I think we have a good match-up there to take advantage of. Then after halftime, we went to it and the man was playing a little off. And then I had to go track it down and make the play.
“As a receiver, going against the DBs every day in practice has really prepared me. Playing with these guys, it’s been really big in getting challenged.”
Frier, who is a 2024 commitment, said he has been impressed with the Seminoles’ turnaround season, despite falling to Clemson this past weekend. Before that game, Frier shared some of his thoughts on what he has seen from Florida State this year.
“I really wanted to go. I feel it is going vertical in a very good way,” Frier said. “Wake Forest is a tough team. N.C. State game was also tough. But it happens to the best of us. As I said, though, I feel it’s really going in the right direction for us.”
Frier also discussed the communication he has had with head coach Mike Norvell, the FSU staff and how things have gone since he made that commitment to Florida State.

“I really have felt strong about our relationship with Coach Dugans (wide receivers coach Ron Dugans), Norvell and everyone,” he said. “The relationships are very genuine and talk about things outside of football. That happens very frequently too. I feel the communication is really good.”
But that hasn’t stopped other schools from trying to win over the FSU legacy recruit.
He took a visit to Alabama, and according to Frier, he is hoping to take a visit to Mississippi State down the line. He also made it clear that he’s going to take one or two more visits to FSU as well.
“I love Florida State and I’m a kid so I want to go places to see how things are at different schools,” he said. “See what’s out there. I still feel pretty solid about my commitment to Florida State.”
Another commitment in the 2024 class is QB Luke Kromenhoek, who has visited FSU numerous times this year. Frier said he and the quarterback commit have started to build quite a strong bond through the process.
“That’s my boy. Me and Luke have always said we are going to be roommates,” Frier said. “He’s a great guy, and we have spent time together this summer and he’s a tremendous quarterback. I’ve been keeping track on how he’s doing and can’t wait to play with him.”
