FSU A.D. Michael Alford gives updates on Doak Campbell construction, ticket sales

With just over six months remaining until the Florida State football team kicks off its 2025 season against Alabama, athletics director Michael Alford gave positive updates to the FSU Board of Trustees on Friday about stadium renovations and ticket sales.
Alford said the stadium project is on track to be completed by July and added there will be some “grand opening” events scheduled before the Aug. 30 season opener.
To help pay for the renovation, Florida State is selling a variety of new season-ticket packages — including expanded premium offerings, such as sideline club sections — and Alford gave updates on how each of those main products are progressing.
He said the West Sideline Club seats are sold at 92 percent capacity (2,174 seats); the Dunlap Champions Club is sold at 82 percent capacity (2,860 seats); and the West chairback seats, which only recently have gone up for sale, are at 29 percent (2,379).
“Just kind of started that campaign,” Alford said of the West chairbacks.
Alford said Florida State has already “reached or exceeded” its projected capital gift commitments for both the West Sideline Club ($28.6 million) and Champions Club ($28.9 million).
Because many seating locations changed as a result of the renovation project, the Seminole Boosters staff has been sitting down with existing season ticket holders for over a year in a “preview center” located near campus.
Throughout that process, Alford said, they have conducted 5,881 appointments with 3,719 unique donors, they have logged 7,798 phone calls, sent 5,173 emails and texted 2,469 messages.

The vast majority of those contacts have been with customers who were affected by the changes. Alford said they will spend the next few months reaching out to other donors who were not affected but might be interested in the new offerings.
“People are starting to really get excited about the upcoming football season,” Alford said. “I anticipate when spring practice starts here soon for people to get even more excited about the future of Florida State football.”
Alford also told the Trustees he recently took a hard-hat tour of the stadium and was blown away by how everything is coming together.
“It is truly going to be the finest stadium in America when this is finished,” Alford said.
Football Facility Update
Along with the Doak Campbell Stadium renovations, Florida State also is building a new standalone football facility, and Alford said that should be completed in August.
Because the Seminoles football team will already be practicing at that point, he said the team likely won’t move into the new facility until the first bye week (Sept. 7-13).
