The Florida State baseball team has its schedule set for its first season under new head coach Link Jarrett.

On Wednesday, FSU officially released and announced the full 2023 schedule for the upcoming season next spring, just in time for fall exhibition season this month at the newly renovated playing field of Dick Howser Stadium.

After the season opener on Friday, Feb. 17, against James Madison, FSU will embark on a schedule that features traditional rivalry meetings with rivals Miami and Florida, a non-conference road series at TCU, plus a loaded ACC conference slate.

Also, this season, the ‘Noles program will have the chance to clinch the all-time NCAA record for consecutive postseason appearances with 45 straight.

During the regular season, Jarrett will have the chance to grab the baton from two men he’s very familiar with in two former FSU head coaches — the legendary Mike Martin and Mike Martin Jr. — and clinch an all-time milestone for the FSU Baseball program in his first year at the helm.

Jarrett himself helped extend the same streak during his playing days as a starter at shortstop for FSU from 1991-1994.

If FSU secures a spot in the 2023 postseason, that will mark the 45th straight appearance for the ‘Noles, which will set an all-time NCAA college baseball record (FSU tied the NCAA mark last season). The last season FSU missed the postseason was way back in 1977, while the tournament itself was canceled in 2020.

In order to secure said record, FSU will navigate a challenging 2023 schedule.

An early test for FSU will be a non-conference weekend series at TCU starting on Friday, Feb. 24. Later in ACC play, a return to South Bend at Notre Dame for the former Irish head coach in Jarrett will be an interesting storyline for a weekend series starting on Friday, April 28.

As far as rivalry dates go, FSU will play a traditional three-game series with the Florida Gators spread out over three individual mid-week dates on March 21 (home), March 28 (neutral) and April 11 (road). The Miami Hurricanes host FSU this season for a weekend series starting on Friday, March 31.

FSU finishes out the regular season with a key weekend road trip at the Louisville Cardinals starting on May 18. The ACC Tournament is set to start on May 23, while the NCAA regional postseason play begins on June 2.

Seminole Baseball is in the midst of the fall season and preparing for a lone exhibition game vs. Kennesaw State on Saturday at noon in Dick Howser Stadium, which Jarrett discussed on Tuesday.
