Florida State remains at No. 4 in second College Football Playoff rankings
Last week, Florida State made its first appearance in the top four of the College Football Playoff rankings in nearly a decade. Seven days later, the Seminoles remained firmly in playoff position.
In its second rankings release of 2023, the College Football Playoff committee slotted FSU at No. 4 — the same spot the ‘Noles found themselves last week.
The trio of teams above Florida State remained the same: Ohio State, Georgia and Michigan were ranked No. 1 through No. 3, respectively. Washington and Oregon were again ranked fifth and sixth in the committee’s release.

Florida State, which is also ranked No. 4 in the AP Top 25 and the USA Today Coaches’ Poll, is 9-0 with three games remaining in its regular season — back-to-back home dates with Miami and North Alabama followed by a road finale at Florida.

Of note for FSU and the ACC, two other conference programs made the Top 25 this week. Louisville climbed up two spots to be ranked No. 11 and North Carolina emerged from the unranked to appear at No. 24.
