FSU DL Joshua Farmer taken by Patriots in 4th round of NFL Draft

After starting 25 games over the past two seasons, FSU defensive tackle Joshua Farmer said he had no doubt he was ready to start his NFL career.
On Saturday, the NFL showed that it agreed with him — even if the draft pick was lower than Farmer had hoped.
Farmer was selected with the 35th pick in the fourth round of the 2025 Draft; he was selection No. 137 overall.
A native of Port St. Joe, who starred in high school at nearby Gadsden County, Farmer signed with Florida State as a four-star prospect in the class of 2021 and played in four games that season while preserving his redshirt.
As a redshirt freshman in 2022, he began to put his potential on display by recording 15 tackles, including 6.0 for loss, while playing in all 13 games. One year later, Farmer started alongside future NFL defensive linemen Braden Fiske and Jared Verse, and he then emerged as the star of the defensive line in 2024.

The 6-foot-3, 318-pound defensive lineman racked up 32 tackles with 8.0 TFLs and 4.0 sacks. He established a career high with 3.5 tackles for loss in FSU’s win over Cal.
After briefly contemplating whether he wanted to stay in college for one more season, Farmer decided to give up his final season of eligibility.
Farmer becomes FSU’s sixth defensive lineman selected by the NFL in the last five drafts; he joins Janarius Robinson and Joshua Kaindoh in 2021, Jermaine Johnson in ’22, and Verse and Fiske in ’24.
He is the second Seminole selected this year, following third-round pick Azareye’h Thomas.
