FSU dual-sport athlete Micahi Danzy named ACC Rookie of Week in track
Florida State running back and track athlete Micahi Danzy earned ACC Men’s Rookie of the Week honors Tuesday for his performance in the 400 meters at the Jarvis Scott Invite in Lubbock, Texas.
The freshman already posted the fifth-fastest 400 time in school history earlier this season, and he topped that over the weekend with a time of 46.14 seconds, moving up to third all-time in FSU history.
The Tallahassee native finished third overall in the 400 meters, placing 1.22 seconds behind the winner. Danzy also ran the third leg of the 4×400 for the Seminoles. Florida State finished with a 3:04.47 in the event — the seventh-fastest performance in school history.
Overall, FSU finished in third, behind Texas Tech and Baylor.
Danzy’s speed is expected to be a weapon for the Florida State football team this fall. As a true freshman in 2024, he played in four games for the ‘Noles. He got two carries for five yards and snared one reception for 38 yards.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound running back preserved his redshirt last year and will return to the football field with four years of eligibility after track season ends.
