FSU freshman Micahi Danzy wins meet, posts third-fastest 400 in school history
Florida State two-sport athlete Micahi Danzy looks poised to finish his impressive freshman year with a bang.
Competing with the FSU track and field team in Jacksonville on Saturday, Danzy posted a new personal best while winning the 400 meters in 45.0 seconds. That is the third-fastest 400 time in Florida State history
Danzy, who also is a member of the Florida State football team, has been turning heads since the indoor track season started earlier this year. At the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships in early March, he placed fourth in the 400 at 46.06 seconds.
The freshman will look to improve on that at the ACC Outdoor Championships on May 15-17 in Winston- Salem, N.C.
Danzy, a Tallahassee native who starred in both sports at Florida High, originally signed with Florida State as a running back but moved to wide receiver following the 2024 season.

His speed is obviously expected to be a weapon for the Florida State football team this fall. As a true freshman in 2024, he played in four games for the ‘Noles, getting two carries for five yards and hauling in one reception for 38 yards.
The 6-foot-1, 189-pounder preserved his redshirt last year and will return to the football field with four years of eligibility after track season ends.
