FSU lands Auburn LB transfer Cam Riley

Some recruitments go very quickly when it comes to the Transfer Portal. However, the recruitment of former Auburn linebacker Cam Riley was not one of those. The talented linebacker took visits to NC State and FSU before originally committing to the Wolfpack earlier this year.
Riley then wasn’t sure about that decision, so he opened the process back up. And the Seminoles’ staff decided to put the full-court press on Riley in recent weeks. And on Wednesday, he committed to FSU.
Riley confirmed the decision in a text message to Warchant after it initially was reported by 247Sports.
When the former Auburn linebacker visited Florida State early in the spring, he had very high praise for both FSU, and linebackers coach Randy Shannon.
“Impressive, very impressive. Everything I thought, everything I expected …,” Riley said at the time. “My former teammate from Auburn (FSU OL Keiondre Jones) praised it so much, the program. Then me actually coming and seeing it myself, and actually seeing it live up to expectations is really what kind of got me. … It was my first time there, and I really enjoyed it. Enjoyed the visit. It felt like it was everything.”

Here’s the full story on Riley’s visit to FSU this past spring
Riley becomes the second linebacker FSU has landed in the portal this year as he joins former Alabama linebacker Shawn Murphy, who took part in spring practice with the Seminoles.
At Auburn Riley had 32 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks last season. He had an even better season in 2022 when he recorded 65 total tackles and played in 11 games.
