FSU leading rusher Trey Benson announces he's back with Seminoles for 2023 season

Another key Florida State Seminole is back in the fold for the 2023 season. FSU running back Trey Benson, the team’s leading rusher this fall, announced Thursday evening he is returning to the team for his redshirt junior season.
A key transfer portal pickup a season ago, Benson blossomed into a major weapon at running back this season, gaining 965 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns while ranking No. 5 in the NCAA with a 6.8-yards-per-carry average.
Coming into this year, Benson was working to overcome a previous major knee injury, entering his FSU career with only 6 total carries across two seasons at Oregon.

If Benson’s 2023 season resembles anything close to his final five games of the regular season this fall, the ‘Noles could again feature one of the most dangerous rushing attacks in the nation.

Benson was sensational, blowing past defenses during a five-game FSU win streak, rolling for 128 yards and 2 touchdowns against Miami, 163 at Syracuse, and another 111 yards and 3 scores over arch rival Florida.
