It won’t make their pain go away, but FSU’s players certainly took some satisfaction from Alabama’s 27-20 overtime loss to Michigan on Monday in the College Football Playoff.
According to the CFP selection committee, 13-0 Florida State was jumped by the 12-1 Crimson Tide in the final rankings because the Seminoles’ offense would be too limited without injured starting quarterback Jordan Travis.

But on Monday, Alabama quarterback Jordan Milroe threw for just 116 yards on 16-of-23 passing. The Crimson Tide accounted for just 288 yards of total offense and scored 10 points in each half.
The two teams combined to convert 5 of 24 third downs in a game that was dominated by both defenses.
Not surprisingly, it didn’t take Florida State’s players — and former players — long to take to social media to vent about the Seminoles being left out of the playoff.
