Reports: ACC to ratify ESPN TV deal through 2036, push to settle with FSU, Clemson
According to multiple reports Thursday morning, the ACC is in the process of ratifying a nine-year television rights extension with ESPN. The deal would run through 2036 and significant implications for the league’s legal battle with FSU.
According to Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports, the TV extension “paves the way“ for a potential settlement between the league and FSU and Clemson. Such a settlement is “not imminent but was closely tied to the ESPN option,” according to an ESPN report co-authored by David Hale and Andrea Adelson.

Specifics of the settlement may include a “brand distribution fund” per the ESPN report, as well as a focus on using the league’s Notre Dame scheduling partnership to create more high-profile matchups. Yahoo Sports reports FSU, Miami and Clemson “are expected to play more football games regularly with Notre Dame” in future seasons.
