The field is set, and the Florida State softball team now knows exactly when it will play its opening game of the 2023 Women’s College World Series.

The No. 3 seed Seminoles will take on No. 6 seed Oklahoma State on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.

If FSU wins its opening game, the Seminoles will advance to the winners’ bracket and face the winner of Utah and Washington. That game would be slated for 7 p.m. on Saturday, also on ESPN.

If the Seminoles fall into the losers’ bracket, they would face the loser of Utah-Washington on Friday at 9:30 p.m. on ESPN.

All games are played at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, Okla.

The Seminoles, who are making their 12th trip to the WCWS, are going for the fifth time under head coach Lonni Alameda. In their two most recent trips, they won the national championship in 2018 and finished second in 2021.

FSU advanced to the WCWS by sweeping Georgia in the Tallahassee Super Regional, 8-1 and 4-2.

The other four teams in this year’s World Series are Oklahoma, Stanford, Alabama and Tennessee.

The Seminoles have played three of the seven other teams in the WCWS field this season, but all of those games came early in the year.

FSU dropped a 2-1 decision to Alabama in February at a neutral-site tournament in Clearwater. The Seminoles then went and played a three-game series at Oklahoma State in early March and dropped two of three, with the deciding game being a 3-2 defeat.

Florida State then went and played one game at No. 1 Oklahoma and fell, 5-4.
