DALLAS — The Florida State football team will be without starting guard Richie Leonard when the Seminoles take on SMU tonight at Gerald J. Ford Stadium.

An FSU spokesman confirmed to Warchant and other media outlets that Leonard would not be available for the game, but no other details were provided.

Leonard has started three of four games this season since transferring in from rival Florida following the 2023 campaign. The senior from Cocoa has played left and right guard this season; he has started two games on the right side and one on the left.

With Leonard out of the lineup, the Seminoles likely will use redshirt junior TJ Ferguson and redshirt senior Keiondre Jones as the starting guards.

Florida State has juggled a number of offensive line groupings already this season. But the Seminoles are hoping to be closer to full strength this week, as left tackle Darius Washington returned to action last week and right tackle Jeremiah Byers has practiced this week.

Florida State (1-3, 1-2 ACC) is looking for a second straight victory against an SMU team that is 3-1 and playing its first game as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
