It’s official! Florida State’s first official flip of Signing Day is in, as the Seminoles have landed former Auburn commitment and three-star cornerback Shamar Arnoux.

Arnoux, who committed to the SEC school last month, signed with FSU on Wednesday morning.

In a video posted by Florida State, the Carrollton, Ga., standout said he originally is from Fort Lauderdale.

“The love that the coaches got for the players, the player development …,” Arnoux said in explaining his decision. “Florida State [is] DBU. Always.”

FIRST REPORT

It is definitely flip season for Florida State, as the Seminoles look to pick off commitments from other schools during this early signing period. And a relatively new name on that list is three-star defensive back and Auburn commit Shamar Arnoux.

The Carollton, Ga., cornerback has been committed to Auburn since last month, but Florida State has been in strong contact with Arnoux, and those efforts appear to be working.

On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons both put in RPM picks Wednesday morning in favor of the Seminoles to flip the Georgia standout.

While Florida State was involved in Arnoux’s recruitment during the summer, things seemed to have cooled off this fall.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound DB attended Florida State’s elite camp on June 9, where he earned an offer and quickly scheduled his official visit for June 21.

“He (Florida State coach Mike Norvell) didn’t say too much about how they would use me, he just said that they would want me,” Arnoux said after that visit. “He didn’t even say I would be a good fit for the program because that’s what every coach says. He was just like opening up, being real.”

After his official visit, Arnoux ended up committing to USC, but he always kept the Seminoles warm behind the scenes. He then flipped to Auburn in November.

And now, he appears poised to become a Seminole.
