Four-star tight end Chase Loftin is the latest blue-chip recruit to join Florida State’s 2025 recruiting class. In announcing his decision Saturday night, Loftin chose the Seminoles over Nebraska, Texas A&M and Missouri

According to On3, the 6-foot-5, 213-pound prospect from Omaha, Neb., is a top-300 recruit as well as the 15th-best tight end in the 2025 class. He is the No. 2 prospect in Nebraska.

Perhaps the most impressive aspects of Loftin’s commitment is the fact he has only been on Florida State’s campus twice, compared to at least nine trips to see the Cornhuskers.

The Omaha standout was in Tallahassee for his official visit earlier this month. And that apparently was when he started to get that close connection from Florida State’s coaches and players.

“It’s one of those places where I walk in and feel at home,” Loftin said at the time. “I mean, obviously, the glitter and stuff, the food and stuff, all that has been amazing. But continuing to build those relationships is what’s important.”

And while Loftin was at Florida State in April, the Seminoles made a huge first impression.

“First thing was, as soon as I got in, there was a ton of coaches in there waiting for me,” the four-star tight end said. “They showed me a lot of love that way … and I guess some things that obviously stick out is first of all their campus is like second to none. That’s the nicest campus I’ve ever been on. And the weather is not too bad.”

Loftin is the fourth commitment for Florida State’s 2025 class this week, joining four-star defensive linemen Kevin Wynn and Myron Charles and four-star receiver CJ Wiley.
