FSU's Jared Verse, Jammie Robinson plan to play in bowl game; no final decisions on future
When asked about their upcoming NFL decisions, first-team All-ACC performers Jared Verse and Jammie Robinson said on Wednesday that they hadn’t made a final determination.
But the two Florida State defensive stars did say they were definitely playing in the Seminoles’ bowl game.
Robinson has already accepted a Senior Bowl invitation, and Verse has been showing up in the first round of mock drafts for a month, but neither has publicly ruled out the possibility of returning for another season in garnet and gold.
Either way, they both said they’d be playing one more game in 2022. Other potential early entrants to the NFL Draft — like Fabien Lovett, Jordan Travis and Trey Benson — were not available to the media after Wednesday’s practice.
“Through everything, I’ve been planning on playing in the bowl game no matter what, trying to give my best effort,” said Verse, who was named to the first-team All-ACC defense earlier this week. “I’m still deciding what I’ll do for the future and everything like that.”

Verse said he is going to talk to the people close to his family and head coach Mike Norvell, among others, before making a final decision. But for now, he’s planning on playing in the bowl — wherever that ends up being — and trying to help Florida State get to 10 wins for the first time since 2016.
That’s Robinson’s goal as well.
“We’re just ready to get that 10th win of the season,” he said. “That’s what we’re ready and focused on right now.”

Robinson, who earned first-team All-ACC honors for the second straight season, said he is “for sure” playing in the bowl game.
“That ain’t no debate,” Robinson said. “I love football. I love the game. That’s what I’m here for. I’m here to help get the team wins. I’m a team guy. And it’s another opportunity, another game for me to showcase what I do and what I love.”
While many potential NFL draft picks sit out their bowl games to avoid injury and begin preparing for the draft process, Robinson said that was never a consideration.
“I feel like guys like that, they’re gonna regret it in the end,” he said. “You can’t take it for granted. I’m gonna miss college football. … At the end of the day, I want to get every game in. I love football. I love the game. I’m that type of guy. I’m here for Florida State, for sure.”
