FSU's Jordan Travis finishes season as PFF's top-rated QB in Power 5
When the 2022 season began, Jordan Travis had plenty of doubters. Even within his own fanbase.
Safe to say he’s now made believers of them all.
Travis not only led Florida State to its first 10-win season since 2016, but according to Pro Football Focus’ metrics, he was the best Power 5 quarterback in the nation.
As the postseason comes to an end, his overall grade of 91.8 is ahead of two Heisman Trophy winners and a national champion. Alabama’s Bryce Young‘s overall grade for 2022 was 91.7 and USC’s Caleb Williams checked in at 91.5.

Obviously, both had incredible seasons as well, and the differences between the three quarterbacks is minimal according to PFF’s grades. But Travis even being in the same neighborhood as those two superstars probably wouldn’t have been believed by many before the season began.
Yet that’s how good Travis was in 2022.
His overall PFF ranking was only behind Ohio’s Kurtis Rourke (92.0) for the top mark in the country. He was also ahead of names like North Carolina’s Drake Maye, Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud, Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker, TCU’s Max Duggan and Georgia’s Stetson Bennett.
