He's back ... again! FSU tight end Markeston Douglas now staying with Seminoles

It remains to be seen how much of an impact he makes for the FSU football team on the field, but senior tight end Markeston Douglas is authoring quite a tale so far with his Seminole journey.
Three days after announcing on social media that he planned to go back into the transfer portal — for the third time in his college career — Douglas has decided to stay put and suit up for the Seminoles in 2025.
According to an FSU spokesman, Douglas never officially went through with the transfer portal process. The spring transfer window closed on Friday, and the senior tight end has decided to finish his college career in Tallahassee.
Douglas originally signed with Florida State in 2020 and was a main part of the FSU tight end rotation in 2022 and ’23. He caught 25 passes in those two seasons combined for 326 yards and four touchdowns.
The Tennessee native then entered the transfer portal and spent the 2024 campaign with Arizona State before returning to FSU in December.

“Florida State was always my home,” Douglas said during an interview in February. “I feel like I didn’t want to finish somewhere else. I wanted to be here. Finish with my team — finish on a good note.”
While the saga has been peculiar, it does give Florida State more depth and experience for a position group that also features a lot of young talent. Also at tight end, the Seminoles have UCF transfer Randy Pittman, sophomore Landen Thomas and freshman Chase Loftin, each of whom played well in the spring. And sophomore Amaree Williams, who showed a great deal of potential in 2024, is expected to split time there and at defensive end.
