Florida State has already pulled in some important pieces from the transfer portal, but this might be the biggest one yet.

Former Southern Cal wide receiver and FSU legacy Duce Robinson has signed with the Seminoles after taking an official visit to Tallahassee. The former five-star recruit is the son of Dominic Robinson, who played wide receiver and defensive back for Florida State in the early 2000s.

He announced his decision Sunday evening on social media. And shortly after that, FSU announced that Robinson’s signing was official.

“I’m excited to welcome Duce Robinson into the Nole Family,” Florida State coach Mike Norvell said. “He is one of the most unique and explosive playmakers in the country. Duce brings tremendous versatility with where he can align, as well as the ability to stretch the field at his size. This creates opportunities for incredible matchup problems for opposing defenses. We hit a home run bringing a young man who was born to be a Nole back home.”

Florida State wasn’t much of a factor in the younger Robinson’s recruitment out of high school, but the Seminoles have since had major success with big-bodied wide receivers like Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson.

Robinson is listed at 6-foot-6 and 220 pounds. During his two seasons at Southern Cal, he caught 39 passes for 747 yards and seven touchdowns.

As a senior in high school, he was rated the nation’s No. 23 prospect in the country after racking up over 1,600 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Robinson has a chance to be the top weapon out wide for new Florida State quarterback Thomas Castellanos, who also returned to Tallahassee for Robinson’s official visit.

Robinson was the No. 6 player available in the transfer portal, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
