The 2024 NFL Draft is not even at the halfway mark, and Florida State already is enjoying its best draft performance in years.

When defensive back Jarrian Jones was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars late in the third round Friday night, with the 96th pick overall, that marked the sixth Seminole taken in the first 100 picks.

The last time FSU had six players selected in an entire draft was in 2018, and only three of those players went in the first three rounds; the other four went in the final four rounds.

The last time the Seminoles had six players drafted in the first three rounds was 2015. The Seminoles finished that year with 11 selections overall, and they will have a chance to get there again.

Jones’ selection capped off a wild second day that saw five FSU players picked. After defensive end Jared Verse went with the 19th pick in the first round Thursday, receiver Keon Coleman, defensive lineman Braden Fiske and cornerback Renardo Green all went in the second round Friday. Jones and running back Trey Benson were selected in the third round.
