One day after former Florida State stars Braden Fiske, Jared Verse and Kalen DeLoach took the NFL Scouting Combine by storm, three more Seminoles provided a little more lightning.

Cornerbacks Jarrian Jones and Renardo Green and tight end Jaheim Bell all tested very well during Friday’s Combine workouts, likely improving their stock for the late-April NFL Draft. Their performances came after Fiske, Verse and DeLoach posted some of the fastest times at their respective positions.

Jones, who started 28 games at cornerback and nickelback during his four-year Florida State career, ran the 40-yard dash in 4.38 seconds. That was the fifth-fastest time among the defensive backs and also the fifth-best of the first two days of the Combine.

Green, who emerged as Florida State’s best cornerback the past two seasons, was clocked at 4.49 seconds during the four-day event in Indianapolis.

The two former Seminoles also showed their explosiveness in the jumping drills. Jones posted a 10-foot, 9-inch broad jump and a 39.5-inch vertical. Green posted a 10-10 broad jump and a 37.5-inch vertical.

Bell, who was the Seminoles’ No. 3 pass-catcher this past season after transferring in from South Carolina, ran the 40 in 4.61 seconds. That tied for the third-fastest among tight ends at the Combine.

Bell posted a 35-inch vertical jump and a 10-4 in the broad jump.
