'Little bit of trolling' ... FSU's Keon Coleman shares message behind watch band colors
After some LSU fans made a fuss about Keon Coleman wearing his Apple Watch in Florida State’s season-opening win against the Tigers, Florida State’s star wide receiver decided to start having a little more fun with it during the rest of the Seminoles’ schedule.
During an interview this week with former FSU and NFL star Bryant McFadden on the “All Things Covered” podcast, Coleman explained that he now wears a watch band that matches the colors of the teams the Seminoles are facing each week.
“And the mouthpiece to match it,” Coleman said.
Coleman quickly held up his wrist to show off a blue watch band for No. 4 FSU’s highly anticipated game this Saturday against No. 16 Duke.
Florida State’s star receiver said he’s just having fans after the LSU fans gave him a hard time.
“A little bit of trolling, but not too much,” he said.
Coleman, who leads FSU with 29 receptions for 418 yards and seven touchdowns, said he will wear the blue watch band every day in practice this week and during Saturday’s game. Then next week he will wear gold for Wake Forest.
He said he has an orange-and-green one for later this year against Miami, and an orange-and-blue one for the Florida Gators. Coleman even has a purple one for North Alabama.
“Every single team,” Coleman said.
