New Commitment! FSU lands 4-star Texas WR Daylan McCutcheon
Florida State’s wide receiver room of the future is shaping up quite nicely, as the Seminoles landed a commitment from another one of the nation’s top wide receivers Saturday afternoon.
Four-star wideout Daylan McCutcheon of Lucas, Texas, chose the Seminoles over Texas, USC, SMU and Ohio State. According to On3, the 5-foot-11, 170-pounder is a top-100 prospect in the 2025 class, the 12th-ranked receiver in the country, and the 19th-best prospect in Texas.
“I have 38 offers and this decision was by far the hardest thing I have ever had to make. I probably have gone back a fourth 30 times with my decision,” McCutcheon told On3. “I made the final decision on Saturday. It came down to pros and cons and what the schools that are going to accomplish my goals for me to choose one.”
McCutcheon had a lot of great college options, obviously, but he seemed to be extremely impressed by his official visit to Florida State on June 21.
“It was a great OV overall. I really enjoyed my time being here,” McCutcheon said at the time. “Main highlights for me was being able to hang out with the players, and the people on the staff. They definitely showed great hospitality. I really enjoyed my time with them.”
McCutcheon’s commitment comes just a few weeks after Florida State landed another four-star receiver, CJ Wiley of Georgia. Wiley is rated one spot of McCutcheon in the national receiver rankings, at No. 11, according to On3.

When it came down to making his decision, McCutcheon said he would be looking mainly at the people in the building.
“The decision factor is basically the people,” he said. “Going to a school that has like-minded people and be able to have the mindset to be able to commit each and everyday, on and off the field, and also the academic standpoint. To be able to get a degree, because obviously the NFL’s not for long.”
McCutcheon is the 12th commitment for Florida State’s class of 2025.
