New Commitment! Seminoles land South Florida safety Max Redmon
Florida State stayed hot on the trail Tuesday evening, landing yet another commitment, this time from three-star South Florida safety Max Redmon.
Redmon chose Florida State over Illinois and South Florida and announced it during a ceremony Tuesday.
The West Palm Beach Cardinal Newman product is coming off the best season of his young career, according to MaxPreps. In his junior year, he recorded 64 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and two interceptions. All of which were career highs.
Florida State has been trending for Redmon for just over two months now. Back in May, On3 vice president of recruiting and transfer portal Steve Wiltfong put in an RPM pick with a 60-percent confidence level for the Seminoles to land the West Palm Beach standout.
The Seminoles were Redmon’s first official visit back on June 7, and it became readily apparent that Florida State set the bar high. In the end, it was too high for any other school to reach.
“They’ve always been one of my top schools, but this OV really brought them up too,” the three-star prospect said after his visit.

Even before the official visit, Redmon was very high on Florida State.
“They’ve just been real from day one, welcoming me and my family,” Redmon said. “And the whole coaching staff, players … it’s hard to get higher than that.”
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, the 6-foot, 185-pound safety is the 83rd-ranked safety in the country and the 130th-best prospect in Florida.
