Perfect Way To Advance: Sandercock pitches FSU into Super Regionals with historic perfect game
After the first game on Sunday, it felt all too familiar for the Florida State softball team.
Kathryn Sandercock made sure it felt perfect after the second game.
The Seminoles’ ace picked the absolute best possible time to hurl her first ever perfect game, leading No. 3 overall seed FSU into the Super Regionals with a 1-0 win over South Carolina on Sunday afternoon.
Florida State, which was shut out in Game 1 on Sunday and was in danger of being knocked off by an SEC team in the Tallahassee Regional for a second straight season, scored just one run off the Gamecocks all day long.

But that one run, which came in the third inning after a Jahni Kerr bunt single and a subsequent South Carolina error, was all the Seminoles would need.
Because Sandercock was sensational. The Gamecocks could never square up a ball against the redshirt senior, constantly beating it into the ground, and the FSU defense was up to the task in preserving the school’s first-ever postseason perfect game.
Florida State (53-9) will host Georgia this weekend in a best-of-three series.
