FSU men's basketball transfer forward Jaylan Gainey reportedly out for season

Before the 2022-23 Florida State men’s basketball season even tipped off preseason practice, the Seminoles lost a transfer acquisition that was brought in this offseason to compete for a major role.
Senior forward Jaylan Gainey, an accomplished grad transfer out of Brown University, is out for the season after suffering a knee injury, according to CBS Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein.
Gainey, who committed to FSU out of the portal in late March as soon as last season ended, won Defensive Player of the Year in the Ivy League conference twice in three seasons, including last year.
