After starting seven games during the 2024 season, offensive lineman TJ Ferguson’s brief time at Florida State is apparently over as his agency has confirmed that he plans to enter the transfer portal.

Ferguson transferred from Alabama before the 2024 season and played in 11 of 13 games at Florida State. He was expected to compete for playing time at guard again in 2025, but he was one of several linemen adjusting to a new scheme being led by new offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn and offensive line coach Herb Hand.

According to Pro Football Focus, Ferguson posted the lowest grade (42.6) of any player who contributed on offense for the Seminoles in 2024.

Before he transferred to Florida State, Ferguson appeared in 12 games with one start in three years at Alabama. He was a four-star recruit out of high school.

Ferguson is the seventh Florida State player to enter the portal during the spring window, joining defensive end Aaron Hester, wide receivers Hykeem Williams, Jalen Brown and Jordan Scott, quarterback Trever Jackson and offensive lineman Jaylen Early.
