Warchant TV: Defensive transfers talk journey to Florida State
The 2025 Florida State defense will lean heavily on reinforcements from the the junior college circuit and the transfer portal in effort to turnaround a unit that 85th in yards allowed the season prior.

On Thursday, JuCo DL Tyeland Coleman, DL, LB Caleb LaVallee (UNC) and EDGE Deante McCray (WKU) discussed their path to Florida State and their commitment to helping aid in a quick turnaround.

Florida State will open the 2025 season in a newly renovated Doak Campbell Stadium when they host Alabama on August 30.
FSU finished in last place in the ACC and below .500 for the fifth time in seven years and third time under Mike Norvell.
Alabama failed to win 10 games for the first time since 2007, its first season under former head coach Nick Saban. The Crimson Tide lead the all-time series 3-1 including the most recent clash, a 24-7 win in 2017
The window to enter the transfer portal closed on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024 and Florida State’s portal class is currently 24th in the nation with 16 additions and 21 losses. The spring transfer period begins on April 16 and closes April 25th.
