Warchant TV: Florida State coach Mike Norvell, Alex Atkins post practice interview, Monday
Florida State persevered and logged in preseason practice 10 in the face of a hurricane in the Florida Big Bend on Monday morning.
After practice, Mike Norvell said he was pleased with elements of the run game, namely physicality and guys “creating space”, pointing out the play of Richie Leonard. Norvell said the team ran overtime situational work early in practice and that Ryan Fitzgerald asked to move the practice ending “game winning field goal” outdoors and successfully converted.
Norvell also lamented missed opportunities in the passing game though said Jalen Brown may have had his best practice yet and lauded the play of Sam Singleton and Kam Davis.
Florida State resumes practice tomorrow.

Offensive line coach and coordinator Alex Atkins was asked about the transfer crop of linemen and when discussing former Alabama product TJ Ferguson remarked that he was, “proud of his progress.”
Atkins said with the experience they have on the line and in the running back room there should be an expectation they will be able to successfully run the ball this season.
He also said he was very pleased with the progress of Andre Otto, Lucas Simmons, Jaylen Early and Julian Armella.

Florida State opens the 2024 season in the Aer Lingus College Football classic vs. Georgia Tech on Aug. 24 in Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.
The Seminoles finished the 2023 season 13-1 with an ACC Championship and its first New Year’s Six bowl berth in 7 seasons.
Florida State has added 14 players from the transfer portal and a high school recruiting class that finished 14th in the 2024 cycle. The 2025 early signing period for prep signees begins Wednesday December 4 and closes on December 6.
