No. 20 Florida State (7-3, 5-3) and head coach Mike Norvell reflected on Saturday’s 38-3 win vs. Syracuse during their weekly press conference on Monday morning. Norvell spotlighted the play of the FSU defense which for a second consecutive week kept the opposition out of the end zone; the Seminole defense is 11th in the nation in yards allowed (293.6 ypg), 13th in points allowed (18.1).

Offensively, Norvell was complimentary of the run attacking saying, “I thought we were very efficient. You’ve been able to run for over 200 yards on a top 15 defense coming in… I think it’s the fifth straight week. You know, that’s a testament to the offensive line, tight ends, receivers blocking — all those things showed up big in the game the other day. “

On the play of the passing attack and QB Jordan Travis, who was 21-for-23, Norvell said, “Jordan was so very efficient in what he did. I thought he played at a very high level, located the ball — great receiver (play), not only did they play physical in the run game, they were they were physical once they got the ball in their hands.”

“We’ve been dominant (the last two weeks) but we can be better — that’s the push.”

FSU hosts Louisiana at noon on Saturday in a game that will be televised on ACC Network.
