Warchant TV: Mike Norvell, Florida State coordinators reflect on Duke win, look ahead to Wake Forest
After rallying for a 38-20 victory against No. 16 Duke, the Florida State football team sits atop the ACC with momentum heading into a road contest Saturday vs. Wake Forest.
“I’m glad to be able to say it each Monday but I love the approach and the urgency from our guys,” Norvell said. “Last night’s practice, they came in and they went to work; they are battling to get better.”
Despite the Demon Deacons’ first conference win coming with third-string QB Santino Marucci at the controls, Norvell said they will prepare for an attack led by starter Mitch Griffis.
Norvell also addressed the defensive surge in the second half and his game management in fourth-down situations, as well as the increased workload of Destyn Hill and encouraging news in regards to Johnny Wilson.

No. 4 Florida State (7-0, 5-0) heads to Winston-Salem, N.C. to face Wake Forest (4-3, 1-3) at noon on Saturday. The Demon Deacons knocked off Pittsburgh 21-17 last week. The Seminoles are alone atop the ACC standings after defeating Duke and North Carolina’s loss to Virginia.

FSU QB Jordan Travis has the 4th shortest odds of winning the Heisman Trophy given annually to the most outstanding player in college football. Through seven games, Travis has accounted for 20 total touchdowns (five rushing) and only two interceptions while completing 65% of his passes for 1,750 yards (39th in the country). His 82.7 QBR, a formula generated for ESPN to grade quarterbacks, is 10th best in the nation.
