Warchant TV: Mike Norvell, FSU coordinators reflect on bye week, Virginia Tech challenge

Florida State returns to action and Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday versus a rejuvenated Virginia Tech whose backup quarterback Kyron Drones led the Hokies to a 38-21 win in their ACC opener last weekend.
The off week afforded the opportunity of additional rest for battered starters including S Akeem Dent who Norvell said, “did more last night.”
“I feel very confident where that can go as the week progresses.”
Meanwhile, Norvell added that OL Robert Scott (lower body injury) is getting “close”.

Offensive coordinator, line coach Alex Atkins addressed the state of the running game and the shuffling of personnel up front.
“I think with guys getting back healthy, we’re back to (the) normal rotation we had to begin the season. I think that’ll give us more of what we’re looking for,” said Atkins.
Defensive coordinator Adam Fuller was asked about the trend of slower starts on defense but stiffening up in late, crucial situations and replied, “I’ve told the guys what I really appreciate is when we needed you, when our backs are against the wall we’ve played our best — let’s play our best when we’re not near that wall.”
