Warchant TV: Mike Norvell, FSU coordinators reflect on loss to Wake, look ahead to NC State at Monday press conference
Coming off the FSU football team’s first loss of the season, Mike Norvell’s opening statement Monday touched on the encouraging response he saw from the team during Sunday’s walk-through while trying to balance the disappointment of the 31-21 result vs. Wake Forest.
“It physically makes me sick when we come up short,” Norvell said of the intra-division loss.
“It’s gut-wrenching when you come up short,” he later added. “You can’t let one bad experience negatively impact another … you have to go get better.”
On the injury front, while not providing a clear timeline, Norvell says he does fully anticipate DT Fabien Lovett (lower leg) being available this season. Also, Jared Verse (knee) was held to a snap count vs. Wake Forest and responded well afterward.

Offensive coordinator Alex Atkins is now up at the podium. On missed assignments up front, Atkins says he needs to put the players in a better position of, “dictating rather than reacting … we have to do a better job of settling (in).”
