Warchant TV: Mike Norvell game week presser, Florida State vs. Georgia Tech
With 20 preseason practices in the books, Florida State now turns its full attention to game week preparations for its season opener vs. Georgia Tech on Saturday.
Due to travel to Ireland, the typical in-season press conferences on Monday were moved to Sunday.
Florida State head coach Mike Norvell said the program is proud to have ESPN’s College GameDay in Dublin for the game adding to Florida State’s notoriety of being not only a part of the first on campus game in the franchise’s history (1993 vs. Notre Dame) but also now its first international broadcast.
Norvell said 2024 has been the most “explosive” preseason since his arrival in 2019 according to GPS metrics and weight room data.

Offensive coordinator and line coach Alex Atkins whom is suspended for the first three games of the season due to facilitating impermissible student-athlete contact with booster will aid in game preparation but will serve the suspension and not coach on Saturday.

Florida State will practice in Tallahassee on Monday through Wednesday and in Dublin Thursday and Friday.
Florida State opens the 2024 season in the Aer Lingus College Football classic vs. Georgia Tech on Aug. 24 in Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.
The Seminoles finished the 2023 season 13-1 with an ACC Championship and its first New Year’s Six bowl berth in 7 seasons.
Florida State has added 14 players from the transfer portal and a high school recruiting class that finished 14th in the 2024 cycle. The 2025 early signing period for prep signees begins Wednesday December 4 and closes on December 6.
