Warchant TV: Mike Norvell on state of Florida State spring football as first scrimmage looms

Florida State continued to gear up for its first scrimmage of spring football with a 25 period practice on Thursday.
Afterwards, Florida State head coach Mike Norvell revealed much of the day was spent installing some new schemes and that the quarterbacks had a good day but missed some opportunities for success.
Norvell also singled out the play of Omar Graham Jr. and Amaree Williams in this opening statement.
Injury-wise, Caleb LaVallee, Daniel Lyons and Jacob Rizy will miss the remainder of spring though Norvell anticipates all will return in time for fall camp.

Florida State will return to practice on Saturday with its first scrimmage.

Florida State will open the 2025 season in a newly renovated Doak Campbell Stadium when they host Alabama on August 30.
FSU finished in last place in the ACC and below .500 for the fifth time in seven years and third time under Mike Norvell.
Alabama failed to win 10 games for the first time since 2007, its first season under former head coach Nick Saban. The Crimson Tide lead the all-time series 3-1 including the most recent clash, a 24-7 win in 2017

The window to enter the transfer portal closed on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024 and Florida State’s portal class is currently 24th in the nation with 16 additions and 21 losses. The spring transfer period begins on April 16 and closes April 25th.
