No. 3 FSU escaped Chestnut Hill, Mass. with a 31-29 victory over Boston College in the ACC opener for both schools on Saturday afternoon.
Afterwards, Florida State head coach Mike Norvell was relieved to avoid the upset. “Great to be able to leave today with a win,” said Norvell. “Obviously (we) didn’t play to the level that we wanted to for 60 minutes.”
“I thought there was, really on both sides of the ball, moments where we had lapses whether it’s focus or execution,” he added.
No. 3 Florida State (3-0, 1-0) heads to Clemson, S.C. next week to face the reigning ACC champions.
