Mike Norvell, Florida State coordinators discuss Miami matchup

Coming off a Friday night loss in Durham, N.C. to Duke, Florida State (1-6, 1-5) moved up its weekly press conference to Sunday afternoon as the Seminoles turn the page to #6 Miami (7-0, 3-0).

Head coach Mike Norvell said he was proud of the way both quarterbacks played at times in the 23-16 loss to Duke elaborating that Luke Kromenhoek “located the ball well” and that Brock Glenn “showed an incredible amount of maturity.”

Norvell declined to discuss any specifics in regards to utilizing both quarterbacks in-game for the remainder of the season and did not provide any updates to Kam Davis and Darius Washington both of whom exited the game with apparent injuries.

Miami leads the all-time rivalry 35-33.

FSU’s upcoming opponent, #6 Miami, defeated Louisville 52-45 on Saturday afternoon.

Sought after QB Cam Ward has amassed 27 touchdowns this season for the Hurricanes while FSU has accounted for a team total of 10 on offense. Ward has out-gained the entire FSU offense 2,728 yards to 1,932.

The Seminoles and Hurricanes will square off in Miami on Saturday at 7 p.m on ESPN.

Florida State added 14 players from the transfer portal and a high school recruiting class that finished 14th in the 2024 cycle. The 2025 early signing period for prep signees begins Wednesday December 4 and closes on December 6.

The transfer portal will open for business Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, and closes Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025.
