Darrell Jackson Jr (Miami) who is a second-time transfer will be seeking an appeal and says it’s a process he will stay patient with. Jackson is excited to be back closer to family in his hometown of Gadsden County where he has his father, a younger sister and an ailing mother to look after.

Casey Roddick (Colorado) says offensive coordinator and line coach Alex Atkins recruits “different, real … he sells you on opportunity and challenge, not the place. I appreciate the way he brought me to this university.” Says he will cross-train between guard and center, but has no preference.

K.J. Kirkland (Raines HS. Jacksonville, FL) was impressed with the messaging from Mike Norvell during the recruitment about how if you don’t like hard work, you won’t like playing for this program. Says he’s been talking with teammates like Travis Jay, Greedy Vance and Azarey’h Thomas to learn the scheme.

Lamont Green Jr. (Gulliver Prep, Miami, FL) said his freshman year in high school was when he really zeroed in on Florida State despite being a legacy. Had a scare when he saw a pair of pants hanging in his locker with the number 82 but will indeed be wearing the number 45, the same as his father Lamont Sr.

Jaheim Bell (South Carolina) said Mike Norvell displayed “real talk” during his recruitment and that made a big impression. “Having a QB that is experienced (is key). Jordan’s return made me want to come here even more, seeing this offense be explosive. … I wanted to be a part of that.” Bell said after he went to the compliance office and submitted his transfer request, he had at least 15 phone calls by the time he got home.
