Warchant TV: Norvell, coordinators, Travis and Verse discuss Spring Showcase performance
Saturday marked the penultimate work day for Florida State’s spring football season with the Garnet and Gold Showcase inside Doak Campbell Stadium. Kentron Poitier and Kalen DeLoach had strong individual performances during 11-on-11 scrimmaging with the former notching two impressive catches while the latter recorded an interception and a forced fumble with recovery. Official attendance was announced as 33,107.
Afterwards, Mike Norvell said he was excited about the work and competitiveness he saw from the team during the showcase. “Older veterans played at a high level, there were times where the defense had great sequences of getting stops and then the offense was able to respond with some explosives and move the ball down the field.” As for the play of Poitier, Norvell said with the absence of Johnny Wilson he was wanting to see how Poitier would respond adding, “Kentron definitely did not disappoint…I think he’s really setting himself up to have a nice season.”
