As the calendar flipped to June, there were some understandable questions about the relatively slow start to Florida State’s 2025 recruiting class.

Despite coming off a 13-win season, the Seminoles were nowhere close to the top 10 of the national team rankings. And while some schools already had 20-plus commitments, the ‘Noles were languishing in single-digits.

That feels like an eternity ago.

With Saturday’s announcement from four-star wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon, Florida State has now picked up eight big commitments over the past three weeks. And the Seminoles have shot up to No. 7 in the On3 team rankings.

Florida State now ranks first in the ACC and ahead of rivals Clemson (No. 8), Miami (No. 12) and Florida (No. 46).

Here’s a chronological look at how Mike Norvell’s Seminoles have soared up the charts in the past few weeks.

On June 24, Florida State landed a commitment from four-star defensive lineman Kevin Wynn. The Greensboro, Ga., standout chose the Seminoles over his home-state Georgia Bulldogs and many others.

One day later, the Seminoles dipped back into the Peach State and picked up four-star receiver CJ Wiley. The 6-foot, 4-inch wideout also chose FSU over Georgia, as well as LSU.

Four-star defensive lineman Myron Charles then committed to Florida State on June 28. The ‘Noles beat out Texas, Florida and Miami for the in-state defensive tackle.

Florida State then went back out of state on June 29 to land four-star tight end Chase Loftin of Nebraska. He chose FSU over the home-state Cornhuskers, Texas A&M and Missouri.

Four-star safety Gregory “Zae” Thomas was next to jump on board with Florida State when he committed on June 30. The South Florida standout chose FSU over Clemson and others.

On July 4, Florida State got some great holiday news with the commitment of four-star offensive lineman Peyton Joseph. The Georgia product was previously committed to UF before opening things up and choosing the Seminoles.

Then on Tuesday, the Seminoles landed three-star safety Max Redmon of West Palm Beach. He picked the ‘Noles over Illinois and USF.

And then Saturday brought the commitment of four-star receiver McCutcheon.

Florida State actually picked up a few more recruiting victories in late-June when a trio of longtime commitments — five-star OL Solomon Thomas, four-star DE Javion Hilson and four-star quarterback Tramell Jones — announced they were shutting down their recruitments and sticking with the Seminoles.
