2025 4-star safety Rashad Johnson commits to Georgia
Bushnell (Fla.) South Sumter four-star safety Rashad Johnson continues Georgia’s hot streak on the recruiting trail. Just a month after his official visit to Georgia, Johnson announced his commitment to the Bulldogs on Sunday.
Georgia asserted itself in Johnson’s recruitment that weekend. The opportunity to develop as a defensive back left a mark on Johnson.
“You could be developed by the best, everybody is great at what they do,” Johnson said after the visit. “The coaches, the head coach, the strength and conditioning coaches are all great. They’ve been to other schools and they did some time. What really stood out was the stability. The coaches that are there are going to be there could be there for the next five years, maybe more.”
Johnson and Georgia co-defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson have had a strong connection since Robinson’s days at Alabama. That connection helped Robinson draw Kirby Smart’s eyes to Johnson, the No. 361 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings.

The combination of Robinson and Smart sealed the commitment for Johnson.
“Me and T-Rob have always had that connection,” Johnson said after the visit. “When he went to Georgia, they didn’t offer and I was really getting recruited by Georgia until the last two weeks…I like the way coach Kirby Smart is very involved with his players,” Johnson told DawgsHQ. “You can’t find a lot of head coaches around interacting with the recruits. You go to other schools, you rarely see their head coach.”
Johnson is Georgia’s 19th commitment in the class of 2025. Georgia has landed the commitments from three other defensive backs. Four-star Shamari Earls, Todd Robinson and Jaylan Morgan are all Georgia pledges.
