2027 LB LaDamion Guyton high on Georgia early on
Savannah (Ga.) Savannah Christian Prep 2027 edge LaDamion Guyton has grabbed Georgia’s attention quickly and in multiple ways.
Guyton already has former Bulldog Nolan Smith’s phone number in his phone. Guyton, like Smith, is a Savannah native. He was a star at Smith’s youth camp.
Smith extended an olive branch to the young pass rusher.
“I’ve talked to him a couple of times, I talked to him at his camp,” Guyton said. “I went the year before and we got to know each other there and we’ve been cool ever since.”
Smith is a bit of a hometown hero in Savannah. Guyton, who plays the same position, is one that looks up to the Philadelphia Eagles’ first-round draft pick.
“Why not look up to him,” Guyton said. “Everybody looks at that guy. He’s big time but he’s as cool as everybody. You would never know if you didn’t know who he was.”
LaDamion Guyton has Georgia as an early contender
Like Smith, Guyton has the attention of Georgia’s football program at an early age. Guyton hasn’t played a snap of high school football yet.
He does have one college offer. The Bulldogs have already offered the 6-foot-3, 225-pound edge. Guyton camped at Georgia and quickly picked up a verbal offer from the Bulldogs’ staff.
The experience is a bit of a blur for Guyton. He took it as a sign to continue the path he’s on as a player.

“It was really motivation for me to keep working,” Guyton said. “My coach was right there with me when I got the offer. He just tried to instill in me to stay humble and keep working. That’s just the beginning… I won a couple of reps in one-on-ones. It was really hot out there though. They said with my potential, I could do a lot of things when I get older.”
Guyton has a lot of growth to do physically over the next few years. He plays as an edge as a 6-foot-3 225-pound 14-year-old.
During the brief interaction, Guyton was informed that he’d be a candidate for the ‘Nolan Smith’ role in Georgia’s defense someday.
Georgia culture is a plus
Georgia has always been a program that Guyton has had his eyes on. He grew up watching the Bulldogs.
“I’ve always been a fan since I was born,” Guyton said. “I have baby pictures in Georgia jerseys and stuff like that.”
Guyton is more than a fan. He feels the culture in Athens matches a lot of the values that he stands on.
“The attitude that they have is great,” Guyton said. “I was talking to players and that they were like ‘don’t come to Georgia if you don’t want to work’. That’s the attitude that they all have. I love it. Why go if you don’t want to work hard?”
Guyton plans on returning to Georgia for the camp next year.
“I plan on showing up and getting better, just grinding,” Guyton said.
