2027 RB Andrew Beard has unique connection with Georgia
Bogart (Ga.) Prince Avenue Christian 2027 running back Andrew Beard is living a bit of history repeating itself.
Beard will play for Prince Avenue in 2024. He broke out as a running back at Lincoln County as a freshman in 2023. He already holds an offer from Georgia. That in and of itself is a big deal for Beard.
Georgia was his first offer.
“Getting the first offer from Georgia is great,” Beard said. “You’ve got to keep on working. It just motivated me more to show that I can do it.”
It’s not the first time in history that Georgia was high on a running back from Lincoln County. In fact, the last running back to play for Georgia from Lincoln County was Beard’s uncle, Garrison Hearst.
“I don’t call him as much as I should but when I see him, it’s crazy,” Beard said. “He comes out and supports. He’s a great person. If I can have half the career he had at Georgia that would be great…“I know he great, he was up for the Heisman, top three pick, he was a Dawg.”
Beard isn’t running from the comparisons. He wears the number five with pride.
“I love being compared to him,” Beard said with a grin. “I’m going to be taller than him and I’m going to be faster than him. It’s fun being compared to him.”
Georgia’s head coach Kirby Smart was a college teammate of Hearst. Beard has heard stories about the college version of Georgia’s head coach.

Andrew Beard wants Georgia to be a contender in his recruitment
Beard is a long way away from any college decision. He has three offers at this point. Georgia being an early one is a major thing for Beard.
He wants Georgia to be a major contender in his recruitment long term. Beard will keep his options open.
“I’d love them to be involved,” Beard said. “Being the first one is major. That’s the first people that really believed in you. That’s major. I’ve always got to keep the options open until signing day.”
Beard still remembers when he got the offer from Georgia after a camp last summer.
“I could have done a backflip, of course, my uncle was there and Kirby and coach McGee,” Beard said.
He’s hoping to make a trip to Athens for a visit over the summer. Beard was last in town to watch Georgia defeat Missouri Nov. 4, 2023.
