4-star DL Jordan Thomas officially signs with Georgia
Defensive line help is always at a premium, and the Georgia Bulldogs announced the addition of one of the nation’s best on Wednesday, with four-star lineman Jordan Thomas officially signing.
Thomas, of Ramsey, New Jersey’s Don Bosco Prep School, ranks as the No. 155 overall prospect in the Class of 2024 per the On3 Industry Ranking. The 6-foot-5, 315 pound defender is also the No. 19 defensive line prospect and No. 1 player in New Jersey by the same rankings.
He committed to Georgia in mid-June, giving the Bulldogs a major win in the northeast.
“Georgia is the best choice for me,” Thomas told On3’s Chad Simmons at that time. “Some of the things I love about Georgia are the people, how everyone cares about each other, how the academics are top-tier and how they produce great defensive linemen. I was around the players and the coaches on the visit and I loved how everyone cares for each other. All are cool people, I trust the people at Georgia and that is big for me.”
There was some concern about his status with the Bulldogs upon the news of Fran Brown accepting the head coaching position at Syracuse, as the two were closely linked and Brown was a compelling sell for the Bulldogs in Thomas’ recruitment.
On November 30, Thomas took to X to let the world know he was locked in with Georgia despite the loss of Brown.

Defensive line coach Tray Scott a major motivator for Jordan Thomas
While Thomas may have been quite close with Fran Brown, his position coach, Tray Scott, was also a key figure in the touted defender choosing the Bulldogs.
“Coach Tray Scott is a great coach that knows how to coach defensive linemen,” Thomas told Simmons. “He is a hard coach that goes hard on his players, but he is about that tough love. He is going to make his players better. He and Georgia have been on me hard from the beginning and he made me feel wanted. Georgia always made me feel wanted.”
The love for the Georgia defensive line coach didn’t stop there, with the big man pointing to the genuineness of Scott’s approach.
“We’re close, and we talk a lot. I’m one of the players he wants. It’s not that he wants me just because I’m big,” Thomas told DawgsHQ. “He wants to coach me. I can tell he wants to coach and develop me.”
