4-star OL Michael Uini officially signs with Georgia
Georgia’s focus in the offensive trenches has been a hallmark under Kirby Smart, and the Dawgs added another major piece to that end today, announcing the signing of four-star offensive lineman Michael Uini.
Hailing from Copperas Cove, Texas’ Copperas Cove High School, Uini is the nation’s No. 174 overall prospect in the Class of 2024 per the On3 Industry Ranking. He ranks as the nation’s No. 13 offensive tackle in the cycle, as well as the No. 29 prospect in the Lone Star State by the same metric.
Uini, who checks in at 6-foot-7, 335 pounds, chose the Bulldogs over the likes of Florida, Michigan, and Texas in late June.
A major motivator in the decision to land in Athens was his positional coach.
“I love Coach Stacy Searels. He is honest. He is genuine. Coach Searels will tell you how it is,” Uini told On3’s Chad Simmons. “Our relationship started last July and it is a no-brainer why he has put so many offensive linemen into the NFL. He is good at getting to know people and developing offensive linemen. We clicked from the beginning. My whole family likes him. On the official visit, the connection with me and the family got stronger.”

Of course, seeing what the Bulldogs had done with this who’ve played his position under the Smart regime also played a key part.
“I picked Georgia because of how they develop offensive linemen, the education being top-tier, their life after football program and the connection between the coaches and the players,” he told On3. “That connection is visible. It is easy to see Georgia coaches and players are a tight-knit group. Their bond is unbreakable.”
Scouting Report on Michael Uini
“Shows flashes of dominance. A light-footed mover when working to the second level. Naturally redirects laterally in pass protection. Shows substantial natural punch in hands. Can stun and neutralize defensive linemen with a quick jolt. Runs his feet on contact and can drive defenders at will. Shows glimpses of high-end upside but needs to put it all together. Can to improve awareness and technique in pass protection, as he surrendered some sacks as a junior. Could also ratchet up his physicality and improve overall consistency on a play to play basis. Plays basketball for his high school team and shows the athleticism to dunk flat-footed. Older for the cycle, turning 18 in the spring of his junior year.” – Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings, on Michael Uini
