Aaron Murray gets Georgia-Florida game day going with hype video
Former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray got game day going for Georgia Football down in Jacksonville with his narration of the weekly hype video on Saturday. Murray, a native of the Sunshine State, chose Georgia over Florida to go 3-1 in the rivalry matchup.
“It’s this time of year every year down in the River City where a sea of red and black meet at the shore to tee it up for one of the greatest rivalries in College Football,” Murray said. “It’s a game where memories are made and nightmares become reality. For over 100 years this game has produced some of the hardest hits and greatest catches and game changing plays playing every down with unmatched energy, because in this game every second counts.”
Georgia comes into this game at 7-0 on the season and 4-0 in the SEC. Last year the Bulldogs beat Florida 34-7 on their way to a National Championship victory. Meanwhile, the Gators are 4-3 on the year with a 1-3 record in the SEC and making the transition into a new era of football down in Gainesville with Billy Napier in his first season as the head coach.
“As we get moving forward for Georgia/Florida, our guys took Friday, Saturday, Sunday off and getting ready to go back to work today. It’s another exciting matchup with these guys in Jacksonville,” Kirby Smart said in his opening statement of Florida week. “I have a lot of respect for Billy. I’ve known him for a long time. One of the most intelligent coaches I’ve been around in terms of preparation and understanding what it takes to run a program, an organization. I think he does a fabulous job. I know a lot of guys on his staff. Got a lot of respect for him. And being a high school coach’s son in this state, we grew up very similar. So it’s on to the Gators and we kind of started on them last week at the end of the week. And looking forward to a good week of practice.”

Both teams are coming off of byes, but going into the byes were different stories. On one hand you have Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs who won 55-0 over Vanderbilt to move to 7-0 on the season and 4-0 in the SEC. On the other is Billy Napier’s Florida Gators who lost 45-35 to LSU to fall to 4-3 on the season including a 1-3 record in the SEC. Things certainly have played out different ways for these two rivals. Regardless, this game means a lot. It’s the 100th meeting according to Florida. Georgia has it at 101. Either way you look at it, it means a lot.
Kickoff time for today’s game is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS. Brad Nessler, Gary Danielson and Jenny Dell will be on the call for CBS.
