RECRUITING: An important April on tap for Georgia

It’s hard to believe, but we’re already coming into the fourth month of the calendar year. For Georgia, it’s a big one on many fronts.
The conclusion of spring practice is soon to be upon us, and that means the annual G-Day scrimmage is also on the horizon.
Aside from the team, however, there’s plenty to monitor on the recruiting front.
Here are a couple of storylines you’ll want to follow as April moves along.

Jared Curtis Watch In Full Effect
Before we get into some other key visits, it’s fair to deal with the elephant that will remain in the room until Cinco De Mayo and likely beyond, as the nation’s top signal caller is zeroing in on what is supposed to be his final decision.
Curtis’ golden arm has rightfully been the subject of much attention throughout the 2026 cycle, with film that suggests he has the ability to make all of the throws necessary to propel any program forward. The one-time Georgia quarterback commit is down to the Dawgs and Ducks of Oregon, and while there’s been much made of the role NIL will play for his services, Curtis continually points to relationships as being of major importance. Proximity to home also seems to be playing a role, as well.
Georgia seems to be moving from a position of strength as of this moment, but there have been fluctuations throughout, including his decommitment from the Dawgs last fall. Still, the Bulldogs have always been considered a major factor and hosted him in March for a multi-day visit, following a stop in Eugene for several days.
He’ll be back to Athens for G-Day, giving Kirby Smart and company a chance for what will likely be a final on-campus swing before his decision becomes public.
April will be pivotal in this race, though I doubt you’d find many folks who wouldn’t expect the pursuit from across the country to carry on well beyond even the May announcement.
Such is the five-star quarterback carousel…
Official Visits On The Horizon for Georgia
Aside from Curtis, the Georgia spring game should attract more than its fair share of talent, and we’ll have that list rolling for you as the date approaches.
For now, we’re watching three names on official visit for that weekend, though it should be considered a tentative list.

Part of the reason to call it tentative stems from the planned decision of five-star EDGE Rodney Dunham, who’s set to announce on April 10. While he could certainly still make the trek to Athens should he choose another spot, it’s worth watching what he decides to do. For now, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish hold a commanding lead in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, though Steve Wiltfong has pointed to the Bulldogs being the main competition. Should the Irish win out, though, we’ll need to check the pulse on that planned trip.
Three-star defensive lineman Ben Boulware is also set to be in town, and while South Carolina is the leader per the On3 RPM, the Bulldogs were a big offer for him when they came through. His isn’t a name we’ve heard just a ton about to this point, but it’s clear there’s a wide net where defensive line is concerned in this class, so don’t be surprised if buzz picks up leading into this trip and beyond.
Lastly is a name that has me very intrigued in four-star running back Javian Osborne out of Forney, Texas. While pulling a player of this caliber from the Lone Star State was a mammoth task before the NIL era, it’s even tougher now. Working in Georgia’s favor, however, is Osborne’s seeming willingness to find himself in Athens at almost each and every turn. He’s been a frequent visitor to Classic City since the year began, and his official visit could provide the Dawgs some much needed clarity as to how the running back situation could potentially shake out this go round.
Twist and turns to come
There’s no doubt this list will continue to grow, and we’ll, of course, monitor along the way, but the spring game has shown to sow seeds that lead to those all important official visits in the summer.
Could a guy like Desmond Green, himself a frequent visitor to Athens, be someone you need to be keeping eyes on as the month rolls on? Can the Bulldogs sway the momentum back to their side with running back Jae Lamar, who recently named Clemson his leader after a visit to see the Tigers? The tight end board certainly bears watching, with Kaiden Prothro, Mark Bowman, Brayden Fogle, and Brock Harris all still seemingly heavily in the mix. Jackson Cantwell always deserves a mention and perhaps more so with Immanuel Iheanacho leaving the Dawgs on the outside of his newest top schools list. PJ Dean is quiet, but the Dawgs are always to be considered a threat. Same goes for the South Garner duo of offensive lineman Ekene Ogboko and EDGE Ebenezer Ewetade. James Johnson is the apple of everyone’s eye, and the Dawgs will be pushing to get him back to campus ASAP. Ditto that for the likes of Earnest Rankins, Kendall Guervil, and Carter Luckie. Keeping Seven Cloud is a must, too. Where does Donte Williams turn for cornerback help? Chauncey Kennon? Peyton Dyer? Danny Odem?
With summer approaching quickly, they’ll all be among the names to keep your eyes peeled for. We’ll monitor each along the way, so stay tuned.
