Anthony Evans injury update: Georgia WR out for Florida game
Georgia had one addition to its official injury/availability report for Florida in the Thursday update. Sophomore wideout Anthony Evans is now included on the report and he’s listed as out. It is unclear if he’s dealing with an injury or, if so, how serious it might be.
Evans has served as Georgia’s No. 1 punt returner all season and has also made an impact on the offensive side of the ball. He has nine catches for 88 yards on the year and one rushing attempt for 52 yards. Evans has also returned 14 punts for 118 yards and six kickoff returns for 105 yards.
Georgia has used Evans at both slot receiver and flanker but he’s not the starter at either spot. Dominick Lovett starts in the slow while both Arian Smith and London Humphrehs see a lot of snaps at flanker. Evans’ absence does put freshman wideout Sacovie White one step closer to the field.
Evans is one of five Bulldogs listed as out for the game. Two more are out for the first half and two more are probable. Senior right guard Tate Ratledge and sophomore defensive lineman Jordan Hall fall in the probable category. Defensive backs Joenel Aguero and Dan Jackson are out for the first half while Evans, Smael Mondon, Branson Robinson, Roderick Robinson, and Joseph Jonah Ajonye are all listed as out.
Ratledge has been out since Kentucky where he suffered a sprained MCL and a high-ankle sprain against Kentucky in mid-September. He underwent tight rope a little over six weeks ago after starting the first three games of the season. Ratledge was available for the Bulldogs win at Texas. He went through his own personal warmup before the game, prior to Georgia’s team warmup, without any apparent limitations.

Hall hasn’t played this season after stress fractures were discovered in each of his shins in late July and early August. It took surgery on each leg to remedy the ailment. The Jacksonville native has dressed out for each of Georgia’s past three games and appeared to be available in all three but did not get into the game.
Running backs Branson Robinson and Roderick Robinson are listed out for the game. So are senior inside linebacker Smael Mondon and freshman defensive end Joseph Jonah-Ajonye.
Branson Robinson suffered an MCL sprain in the first quarter of Georgia’s win over Mississippi State. He was quickly ruled out for the game at Texas. Roderick Robinson hasn’t played this year after having toe surgery in the preseason. He’ll be back late next month at the earliest.
Mondon has been out since the Alabama game with a foot injury. Early indications were that the senior linebacker could be in danger of missing the rest of the season. Now a return in November looks possible. Smart revealed on Tuesday Jonah-Ajonye is done for the season after surgery for a “lower extremity” injury.
