Ask Rusty: Georgia enters final week of spring

Spring practice has flown by at Georgia. The Bulldogs got it going in early March and now it’s 80 percent finished. They held their second spring scrimmage on Saturday as the offense wrapped up a bounce-back week. The defense was the big winner in the first scrimmage.
It sounds like UGA avoided any major injuries in the second scrimmage, much like the first. Still, the Bulldogs are banged up and bruised after 10 practices and two scrimmages. Kirby Smart has challenged his team to finish strong and there’s just one week left. Everyone is having to press through.
Meanwhile, the coaching staff is trying to make the most of its opportunity to recruit players on campus. The month of February was dead and it won’t be long until spring evaluation period takes center stage. Then it’ll be official visit season.
Georgia has done a great job getting some of the top players in the country on campus this spring. It’ll try and keep that energy this week with two more practices and the G-Day game. You know the Bulldogs are expecting the spring scrimmage to be a big event because recruiting is the first reason Smart gave for not televising the game. He wants full control of the schedule that day.

*** ASK Rusty: April 6, 2025***
Q: Thoughts on the Robinson boys getting back?
A: Roderick seems to be getting there from pictures yesterday. Said it a 100 times, you have so stay healthy. Both have fought injuries several times. I know they are frustrated, I would be.
Q: Is there word on the OL from this past scrimmage?
A: Sounds like they had a good week. Got their *** kicked last Saturday. They had a really good week, I was told.
